This May some of the officer's terms will expire. Subsequently we will be having elections in June (during our chapter outing to Crazy Axes). Currently we do not have anyone lined up for these 4 vacant or soon to be vacant positions. Your recommended nominations or self-nomination would be appreciated.

The slate is as follows:

Duties of the Membership Chair      1. The chapter Membership Chair may appoint three to five chapter members to

form a Committee.

2. Seek out new members for the DHI New England chapter.

3. Develop a marketing strategy with accompanying marketing literature.

4. Coordinate with DHI national and our Chapter Secretary to establish a renewal process.

It is impossible in large areas for any one individual to know all potential candidates for membership. However, an active membership committee can find ways of locating such potentials. The Membership Committee might consider “teaming up” with the chapter Education Committee in preparing a pamphlet giving a history of the chapter and its activities. This information will give potential members all of the background information needed to arouse interest. The Membership Committee chairperson and members should be selected for their overall interest in the chapter and willingness to work toward increasing the Chapter’s membership base.

The following officers shall stay on through May of 2026, (no vote required):

Treasurer –                              Bill Hillman, DHT

President-Emeritus –     Jim White, DAOC, FELLOW, CFDAI

Education Chair –                   Kim Salvo-Conlon, DHT, FDAI

Meeting Arrangements – Bert Sullivan

Awards & Recognition – Jim White, DAOC, FELLOW, CFDAI

The New England Chapter leadership has provided an extensive amount of education and programs for our chapter members over the past few decades. We have won the Mary Roth Award, given for excellence in chapter educational programs, 14 times in the past two decades. Some of the board/committee people have been active with the board/committee for several years and some of us are aging out. In order to continue the greatness of our chapter, we need an influx of new leaders.

I know that everyone is busy with their own work, family and leisure time, but I implore you to get involved. I too I’ve been in your position one way or another but managed to give the hour here and there to the chapter. Most committee positions only take a few hours of your time which includes: Board/Committee meetings – 1hr (usually via Zoom quarterly), Chapter meetings – 1 hr. (Live or Zoom quarterly), completing the work of your committee (~1hr per month).

Thank you in advance for your nominations or self-nomination. Our chapter will only continue if these positions are filled.

Respectfully, Jim
